TATJANA KRIVENKOVA

Connection

„In the spring of 2021, the young poet Kirils Ecis invited me, Tatjana Krivenkova, to collaborate on a joint publication for the 2021 Christmas issue of the literary magazine “Žoklis”. Kirils Ecis’ poem, titled “prcession” (“a microtonal verse with an illustration”) served as a precursor to the themes found in the initial elements of Krivenkova’s sketchbooks. The poet was interested in “word combinations”. I, on the other hand, became captivated by the concept of “connection”. It seemed perfect if I could contribute an artwork to each magazine, creating a series rather than reproducing a single form.
My new exhibition serves as a response to Kirils Ecis’ poem. An illustration, or rather an illumination, striving for the ideal.” Tatjana Krivenkova, 2023.

Painter Tatjana Krivenkova’s artistic style is recognizable by its minimalism, laconism, where the verbosity is abondaned to be able to express the idea more precisely. A pure, simple feeling – the separation of light from darkness, or the light itself, Pentecost or the West Wind Zephyr, sprout or dedication... To Tatjana Krivenkova, it is essential – the relationship between colour and light that is nuanced, vibrating, and almost transparent. Just like our spiritual world. (Ilze Zeivate)

She has organised more than 30 solo exhibitions and participated in more than 30 group exhibitions in Latvia and abroad.
