The international art fair of contemporary and modern art, PAPER POSITIONS Berlin 2023, took place in Berlin from 27th April to 30th April, 2023, with a unique focus on drawings and works on paper, collages, art books, illustrations and sculptures. In addition to works by contemporary artists, exhibited were also works by contemporary art classics and old masters.
Maksla XO Gallery presents the works of two bright international artists – Helena Heinrihsone's (Latvia) silkscreens - „The presence of women in the context of World perception. The human body as an expression of joy and pain, loss and victory” and
Bodo Korsig's (Germany) cutouts from paper - „Dynamic and precisely planned cutouts reproduce brain structures and the transmission of electrical impulses between synapses in an abstracted form, thus offering the viewer a comprehensive projection surface. Where the wall objects open up, the viewer's individual sensations and thoughts flow in and capture them.”
In addition, Maija Kurševa's solo exposition "It's Getting Dark" - as winner of PAPER POSITIONS AWARD by Kaiserwetter, 2022.
„Acrylic paint strokes that are holding cut-out drawings on the wall blur boundaries between drawing and sculpture, abstraction and representation. A line is a recording device for a wandering imagination. It flows and curls, hides under the rocks, looking for a new path through the darkness”- Maija Kurševa.
