The new personal exhibition of Kristaps Zariņš "Volcano" presents the artist's works created in Greec during his trip in 2009 and back home, in workshop in Riga, in 2010.

As a road trip diaries inspired by travelling both in space and time, Kristaps Zariņš's paintings reflect on Greek artistic heritage, culture, philosophy, nature and landscape.
This exhibition is a sequel to the 2009 artist's "Journey" collection based on visual notes describing the artist's life on the road - the world capitals, cultural landmarks and events visited together with the family and therefore amplified by the family presence.

My paintings are like a lava eruption, because an artist is a volcano - with a burning heart and red-hot paintings.
Volcano usually erupts against the sky, that is why in art red is opposite to blue, - says Kristaps Zariņš.
