In Latvian contemporary graphical art, Guntars Sietins is the most important master, who chooses to work in a complex and time-consuming technique of “mezzotint”. His black and white compositions with relative landscapes and somewhere between heaven and earth levitating items – balls, chestnuts, numbers and letters – have earned him high acclaim and recognition not only in Latvia, but also in numerous reknown international art exhibitions.

His latest solo exhibition “Fire Wall” will surprise the viewer not only with the artist’s utilized diversity of graphic techniques – mezzotint, aquatint, photopolymer, but also colours – black and red – fire and burn wooden wall. The exhibition will be also complemented with the works from the new “Characters” series, where as one of the central symbols, the artist uses the infinity sign.

Guntars Sietins graduated from the Latvian Academy of Arts, the Department of Graphics in 1988. He has held 18 solo exhibitions and participated in over 112 group exhibitions worldwide. He has also received several international awards.
