Vija Zariņa (1961)

The language of the artist's painting is very feminine, refined, ornamental.
Peace and harmony radiate from the compositions, thus reflecting the internal world and thinking of the artist.

Vija Zariņa works with equal care in the figural genre, still-lifes and portraits.
Her main means of expression is the form, not the colour.

The painter chooses to depict objects that in the course of time have turned into the symbols of aesthetic beauty - a ball, a mandolin, a violin, a pear... She sees the beautiful - the primeval form in them, their impotance stems from it.

Human life is unknown. It is the artist who lights up the most important and improves it with his or her own feelings in a way it becomes visible and obvious to everyone.

Therefore it is the more beautiful for the creative spirits who have their own direct eye and opinion.
Vija has the gift of very clear tonal vision and the feeling of the form. Her eyes are hers, and her hands are also hers. Vija always implements her idea.
