Famous Latvian photo artist Atis Ieviņš works in silk screening technique, works that was done in 1970-ties relates with 20th century 70-ties world art actual pop-art tendency.
Using silk screening technique was good chance for artist to manage creative searching not only in technique of graphics, but also to work with less common themes and stories.
Atis Ieviņš was inspired by world famous pop-artist Andy Warhol and in a result every silk screening - preprint wittingly was created in another colour gamut. Artist was experimenting with colours and solution of shapes, relation between frosted and glossy surfaces as well as texture of relief. In such a way artist achieves this pictorial impression.
Already in college days Atis Ieviņš was one of the first photographers who documented and later used in his works these illustrations from lifetime of hippies and specially artist was documenting Andris Grīnbergs performances and equities, which then in official art of Latvia was not approved legally. In such a way Ata Ieviņa works acquires uniqueness not only in art, but also as time documentation.
